A MAN'S BEST FRIEND
what if your own security guard robs your house? A stat from 2019 shows 65% of burglars know their victims. This means the burglars who robbed everything from your house pointing gun at your head might be acquainted with you. This is not only shocking but also upsetting when you realize one of your trusted person mugged you. To avoid such incidents one must choose 'friends' wisely, one should look for those guards who are loyal, trustworthy, intelligent, strong, easy to maintain and friendly. All these characteristics are found in DOGS. This article is about guard dogs, specific breeds, their food and maintenance, how they are trained, their abilities and their valor.
A guard dog is a dog that possesses some specific temperaments such as, alert, fearless, loyal, obedient, confident, intelligent, energetic. It will naturally have protective and territorial instincts which will compliment the guarding of your property. It has to be curious and eager to learn new things so that training process becomes easier for you. The dog breed needs to be calm, watchful and steady as well which will help him to be prepared for the ambush and also help him to think wisely.
There are thousands of dog breeds to choose from but the aforesaid qualities aren't found in every dog breed. So now lets know what are the dog breeds that will risk its own life to protect you, your family and your belongings. If you are looking for personal protection dogs then you can go with
1. German Shepherd
2. Belgian malinois
3. Dutch shepherd
4. Doberman pinscher
In my opinion these dogs being agile are great personal protection dogs. Now lets see some of the breeds specialized for protecting properties and residences.
1. Cane corso
2. Rottweiler
3. Doberman
4. Pressa canario
Because of their large body structure I have kept them in this list.
since they are protection dogs they don't require that much of a maintenance. They can cope up with any kind of situation and surroundings. But because of their high drive(greater than normal degree of activeness and playful nature) its advised to spend time with them, play with them, train them. you can go for a walk, play fetch with them. Thats all the basic necessities for a dog. Since they are working dogs they must be provided with a good balanced diet consisting of a bit more protein than an usual pet dog.
Now lets talk about the training fundamentals. After selecting a high drive puppy you have to start the training at an early age. You should start with the basic commands of sit, up, down, name etc. but as the puppy grows you have to train it dividing into 3 major parts. these are obedience, protection and socialization.
obedience: here we mainly focus on whether the puppy is listening to your command or not. For example, when you tell him to calm down as he sees an intruder, he has to stop barking or attacking the person. this is the training so that the dog listens to your command over its instincts.
protection: a fundamental training by which the dog gets prepared for a real life combat. trainer has to wear bite suit and attack the dog or the handler. and trainer will create tough and rough conditions for the dogs to handle. also here the dogs gets training to jump through the car windows, move into dark narrow tunnels and also jumping a 10feet wall.
socialization: a key training so that the dog remains cheerful, playful and loyal to the rest of the house members and towards other pets.
One important point, make sure to appreciate the dog by saying stuffs like, "good boy" or treat him with a piece of its favourite food after it has accomplished one of its task in the training session.
why would you choose a dog over a human body guard?
loyalty, dogs wont think twice to put themselves in danger just to save the master. For them, masters safety is the first priority, and wont cheat depending on how much wealth the master has. I bet you wont find this type of a human guard easily. Secondly, because of low maintenance and service charge. and lastly it does not need any lunch breaks and you can get a 24/7 service from it.
Have you heard of Cairo?
